Another wintery day

Boy is it cold here today we havent seen the sun all day long .I was kinda brave this morning though and i did take the car down to tescos in the blanket of ice covered snow to go get some much needed shoping in. The kids were home again today as the school was closed due to the ice so they had to come to but we left them playing thier gameboys in the cafe which s always much easier. The roads werent too bad once we got out of the place where we live but tesco car park was still like an ice rink it was all very scary but it was ok.

When we had got back my order from 123 stitch that Tonya had given me the gv for had come along with a book i had bought from one of the girls on a yahoo group i am in. Thankyou Tonya i love my beds and threads and fabbie i bought and i feel so spoilt. The dog did attack the envelope but luckily for him the contents where intact or he would of been sorry!!!!Jake and i just took a walk with the dog and everything seems to be better with the snow theres not so much of it now and the road in my street is nearly visable which is great but the weather is warning we are to get it heavy during tonight and tomorrow so it doesnt look to promising that the children will get back to school this week but there is always hope!!! When we came in we were frozen through so we just defrosted infront of the fire with a hot chocolate and marshmallows which was lovely. Liverpool are playing on the tv tonight so im going to get on with my pheonix dragon i managed to get a little more done last night as you can see so fingers crossed it will get done in time afterall. Everyone stay warm and safe.

And it hasnt wanted to stop!!!

This is what we got up to at 7am this morning and that was before the blizzards set in if you seen London on the news yesterday thats exactly what it looked like here dark and foggy and tons of white stuff!!! We checked on the local radio stations website and of course the school was closed they all have been localy today which was just what my boys wanted to hear they wanted to go out and play in it before it was light!!! but we made them wait as it was so bad. When it calmed a little we all went to Lidls for a walk to get bread but it was really hard on Donnys eyes as the snow was so bright. We ended up in oyr friends for a cuppa on the way home which is strange as we live just a few houses down across the road from them lol but was nice to have a chat anyway.

This is the snowmen the boys built in our garden just over an hour ago we are still surrounded by the stuff even though the sun has been shining for the last few hours and they are saying we are in for a heavy freeze tonight and even more snow either later or by the end of the week the kids are hoping so id rather it go so they can go to school!!! we shall wait see we werent expecting much to start with so this has been great fun for them. And oh yes here is Leon always the show off hehehehe hes gonna kill me if he sees it here!!! oh well stay warm and safe!! im off to finish dinner and then do some more stitching i think we will give cadets a miss tonight

I cant believe it!!!

Its snowing!!!! and we never ever get snow here i think its because we are sitting on the coast.The boys have been so excited as it is so very rare we have only had a dusting mind just enough to cover the floor but its still trying to come down now . The kids are hoping that it comes down really heavy tonight so they will get the day off school tomorrow so they can go out in it but we shall see im kinda hoping it clears up but then again i dont want them to be disapointed either so anyway here are some photos they took if it gets any better i will get them to take some more tomorrow.

I went up tp the school this afternoon for a meeting with Leons head of year about all that went on last week aparantly its sorted now but we shall wait see how it goes i think.

A busy weekend

We have had such a busy weekend. We did go to our friends on friday night and we had a fantastic time we took over our ps3 to play singstar and i wish i could show you the videos they are well funny!!!! they are all coming over to us saturday all 6 of them that will be fun!! We came home at 3am so it was a late night for us all but as we dont do it very often that was ok. Saturday we were all very tired as you can imagine but not too bad Jake and me walked up to town to get him a new pair of shoes for school and then caught the bus home as we were both wiped out lol. On sunday Leon had his next kata for his yellow belt in kick boxing i got to watch him do it this time but he wont find out until friday if he has passed or not but i think he did ok we shall wait and see. When we got back me and Donny went to war as Liverpool took on Chelsea in the sunday sfternoon match and guess what i lost much to Donny and his friends pleasure and thats all im saying on that!!! (you can see im still pouting lol)

Here is what little stitching i have done over the last few hours it is the pheonix dragon by enchanting lair i am hoping to do it for Donny by valentines day as he loves liverpool and the pheonix is thier emblem im hoping he will like it.
I also wanted to say thankyou to Barb from the smo board as i have recieved the prize from her contest i am still very much looking foward to being able to get to grips with evenweave and i am looking foward to stitching this thankyou.

Upgrades update

Well the lady from the council did call this morning a little later than she had said but she did come and acually at the momment im pretty much still none the wiser!! She was hopeful by tomorrow we would have some idea exactly when the gass meter will be moved outside and oh yes the works will still be started on 9th february and we will be having our window measured soon to get it ordered and we will not be without a toilet 3 days all this will be sorted out when the other member of the councils team and the contrator calls out to us one day this week or next hmmm so exactly when will we know?? i mean just over a weeks time and they will have started i just really dont know where i am at all.

We got an appointment with another dr on the half term week too for Donny to assess his ability to work man it makes me laugh he still cant read his own texts on his phone the hospital records all show exactly what the condition is but they have to see for themselves im sorry but if they arent eye drs what exactly are they going to assess? its just one thing after another and then we all have the dentist the day after that im just hoping they take less than a week to do the house or what happens then?

The school did try to contact me yesterday afternoon about 45mins after school finished when i was stranded in tesco carpark as my car refused to start again which lead into an argument between me and Donny for paying out so much on it everymonth when i wont go anywhere and hes right i just cant be bothered i like being home stitching or on here when its cold and wet out doors but if i dont want to lose my car im gonna have to start dragging him out more so hopefully it will stay cludy so he isnt in to much pain. Anyway back to the point the teacher said she would call back today and she didnt bother so i have written a letter and Leon is going to hand it dirrectly into the head masters hands tomorrow so he can see exactly how the parent is treated when they show concern for thier childs behaviour at school so we will wait to see how it goes he is a new one and i havent spoken to him before but he has changed so much already so lets hope he does something about it all i will keep you updated.

With all this going on no wonder i am looking grayer all the time lol!! that reminds me will have to get somemore dye!!

On a lighter note i started a new project this afternoon inbetween playing the guiness world record game on the wii its a whole lot of fun but you get some competative you dont want to come off even though your arms are hurting so so much lol but i do have a reginal record and one world record for now yeay me!!!! Well off to make dinner Donnys just gone over to his friends across the road for a cuppa and a chat its nice for him to go out for a little while and we get a break from one another :-) then theres footie tonight so ill be glued to a screen somewhere lol

A spooky finish!!

We had a confusing day today i stayed in as i still have a niggling headache had it a few days now just cant seem to shift it but then again its not too unbearable at least.

We had a call from the school this afternoon saying Leon wasnt where he should be and may have left the school buildings well i called Leon and had a text back telling me he couldnt talk as he was in class.I called the school back and asked what exactly was going on as this isnt the first time this has happened and when they called me back they had found him its maddening why they dont know where the children are i just dont understand it as they have to register every child in every lesson on the computers in every class its enough to frighten you.

Then i acually spoke to someone from the council who are now calling tomorrow to finally discus the final arangements for the fittings that are going to be happening in 2 weeks today (fingers crossed!!!) we shall wait and see what happens next i guess. Donnys auntie called over earlier she needed help with her boiler its all new to her and we have had ours a while so i was more than happy to help she seemed frightened poor thing!! but its all sorted now.

My weekend

Yes i know its late and i really should be heading to bed as i have to get the kids up for school in the morning but i thought i would just update you sll eith whats been going on with me here. On friday night the boys had thier late christmas party with the sea cadets as the christmas party had to be cancelled at last moment and was rearranged to this week . So after i had gone to collected Leon from rugby training at school at 4.00pm to bring him home and have a shower to get him to kick boxing by 4.30pm (yes that was a tight fit) i then came home and got food started as i had to pick Leon up by 5.30pm to bring him home to have food and all of us get ready to leave at 7pm to walk to town by 7.30 when the party started and the three of us made it in time Donny really wanted to come but as it was a disco as well he would never have been able to cope with the lights which was such a shame as it would of been great to have him there with us i was lucky though as one of the dads i knew from rugby was there so i sat with him and his wife who i seemed to get along with quite well.

We had a quieter saturday my dad and stepmum called over for a bit then me and the boys took the dog for a walk he is still suffering today poor thing!!! hes getting far too old to walk to far now so we have to be careful with him. We spend saturday night as usually our family night woth a movie which was great we watched a creepy one this weekend but i was quite disapointed as it wasnt very good.

Today i sat and watched the cardiff aresnal match and almost finished my orniment for my january challenge on my board and then the boys left half way through as Leon had kick boxing but his instructor brought him home as he had another migraine he was aufully sick when he got home but i put him in my bed as i was working on the old pc in my room so i could keep an eye on him he went to sleep but then the phone woke hime and he wouldnt stop chatting so i knew he was feeling better and i couldnt get much done!!! He managed to eat the roast pork dinner i made this evening and kept it down so he will be going to school in the morning!!! I managed to get upstairs and get the ironing done while the boys watched top gear and whem the kids had gone to bed i sat and watched ghost whisperer while Donny has been watching some fighting event on tv it will be finishing soon (thbakfully!!!!!!!) and i will be off to bed or i will never get up in 7 hours.

We are so proud

Here is Jakes first qualification he has earned at school which is equvilant to a GCSE level this is stage one he has also completed stage 2 and he is on stage 3 at the moment we are so proud of him doing so well at school and we are really hoping he will keep up the good work as it will really help him with whatever he decides to do with his future. I just thought i would share with you all.

First finish for 2009

Well its taken me a while to get into a stitchy frame of mind this year ive been trying to get some fitness into my live around everything else and when im not tired or achy im in a cant be bothered mood Donnys eyes are too good at the moment either so i dont like to have the light on for long in the evenings but anyway here it is so now at least im half way to getting my own challenges done on my runboard!!! OOOOHHHH i fprgot to say this is done on one of my hand dyed fabbies!!!!!!

A wonderful stash filled week!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I havent been online very much this week with trying to sort out whats happening next with the works we will be having done to the house next month and still getting nowhere trying to wokout and spending time with my family so i thought id jump on tonight and update you all with the few things that have been going on here, In this post id like to tell you all about the wonderful gifts i have recieved this week and the fantastic prize i won at frost night on the smo board and show you the prize i recieved for my article in cross stitch gold that i have now finally got a copy of thanks to my very dear friend Nicky.

Firstly here is the prize i got from cross stitch gold some wonderful stickers and some white aida always very useful especiall as i have none at the moment lol

Secondly i recieved 3 wonderful charts from my wish list from Donna on the smo board it was very sweet of her

Next was the wonderful prize i recieved from Myrna on the smo board from her frost night contest wow there where a lot of nice things a fantastic prize

And last but by no ways least Tonys had already suprised me this week with a $15 gv for 123 stitch which there was no need for at all but when these dragon floss arrived from sew and sew this morning i was very very shocked!!! Tonya is a lovely person and has been so sweet to me i have no idea what ive done to deserve all these pressies but i am very grateful thankyou so so much!!!

Great

They came to do the insulation in the coving in my walls yesterday so at long last we will have a warmer house just waiting now for the artic to be redone and the double glazing. The real problem started yesterday afternoon with just one phone call. When they come out next month to refit our bathroom they have decided they are going to hack off the walls and replaster which is great im not complaining as we have so much condensation in there it will be a great help no the problem started when they said we wont have a bath or sink (well we knew that) or toilet for 3 days!!! 3 days i couldnt believe what i was hearing and what was worse was they expected us to move in with friends or family while they were doing it!!! yes if course i know someone who can put the 4 of us the dog and the snake up for 3 days as if what are they thinking? Its hard enough some days for Donny to get around our own home with his eyes nevermind have to sleep on a floor or something its just a nightmare they are calling back out early next week to discuse where we go from here so we are hoping for some better news there.

I was also disapointed after working out so much with videos exercise bike and ab trimmer to have lost no weight at all but to have lost an inch on my waist i just dont get it at all!!!! but im not complianing and im keeping it up i will be back in my jeans really soon i am deturmined lol but it does mean my stitching has suffered though so i need to go and try and getmy 2 challenges done for the month!!!

I was asked by my dad for a new photo of the boys for his wallet so here is the one one took of them in thier sea cadet uniforms as leon has had a new one we also had one frammed for him and both my dad and stepmum loved it I just thought id share with you all.

Happy Birthday Donny

Today is my wonderful husbands birthday i hope he has a wonderful day :-) me and the boys made him cards yesterday and he had them this morning and will get the gifts we bought for him when they return home from school this afternoon. I have spent this morning in the kitchen making him a cake Leon has asked me to wait until he comes home from school as he wants to decorate it so i will do. I have also made some blueberry muffins, not so good for my diet and exercise plan but at least i know whats gone in them as i have made them :-)

I started this morning well i exercised on my bike for 25 minutes and also used my ab trimer im hoping that it will all help even if its just small bits often rather than a lot 2 or 3 times a week. Leon and i did do a dvd on saturday night itwas a lot of fun but boy did i start to feel it on sunday night there are still some parts of my body that are sore to touch LOL and Jacky has sent me a dance dvd this morning which i am going to try in the morning hopefully after the boys have gone to school and Donny will have to stay upstairs and wait for me to finish before he gets up!!!! I have to re weigh tomorrow and report to the girls n the two boards im sharing with how im doing so you all need to keep your fingers crossed for me . Leon made me laugh he made us weigh before and after we exercised i told him it didnt work that fast and mine had gone up a pound after but he was shcoked!! i told him i must of jiggled some fat loose LOL im hoping that mayb ein a few weeks it will start to show though. All the christmas stuff has nearly gone and im trying to watch what im eating as well as exercising as much as i can bare.

Well i havent done any stitching in days as ive either been taking care of Donny and the boys or exercising and then ive been sore and havent felt like it but i think i will get off here and go do some now thats my problem i guess too much time on the pc and not much elese getting done !!!!! but then agai n the last few weeks i havent been doing much of that either . I do have to go out in a bit to get a few things and it really raining out there at least the wind has calmed down it was really bad last night im glad i didnt have to go out in it.

Its the weekend again already

I cant believe the weekend has come around so quickly already!! we are flying along so quickly at the start of this new year and at long last i am starting to feel almost human again and its about time too!!! I am still having trouble walking very far or doing very much at the moment but i can hardly wait to get a start on my exercising and Leon has volentered (forcefully i will admit!!!) to have a go with me over the weekend so that will be fun!!! We also have to go out to get something for Donny for his birthday and the three of us have no ideas what we will be getting yet. They will be off to cadets soon kick boxing was canceled tonight and there was no rugby training at school i guess its because the ground is still so hard. Im not sure if Leon will be going though as he was just complaining that he has a headache so we shall see.

I must add an appology to my blog today as i had an email through from a freind whos runboard i have been neglecting as i am so busy taking care of Donny and the kids and i havent been well myself for the last few weeks that i really havent been on much just to check my emails and my board and Jackys board as we are all trying to lose weight together.Her board is so busy i didnt think id be missed but i was!!! Saying that there are a few places ive been neglecting so i will have to try make up for it now i can sit at the pc a bit longer so i am sorry to all those places i have been neglecting the past few weeks some are so quite i bet i havent missed much though lol Im even missing the smo board as i used to go there a lot longer but these days i just dont have the time.


I did start a new piece of stitching a few days ago and its almost complete so that will be my first finish for the year and my first completed challenge for the month for my board so there will be just one to go!!!

Its so quiet

Yes the boys are back at school today after the christmas holidays it was cold and dark when they left just after 8am this morning oh yes and very white we are still covered in a thick white frost everywhere we have been for days its all very pretty but so slippery still i am dreading going out driving in it soon to go shopping but hey if i dont ge there will be no food to eat tonight lol. Ive been good this morning and i have cleaned all through down stairs and mopped everyhwere so im sitting here waiting for it to dry up and taking a break as its worn me out i will be so happy when i finally get over this nasty chest infection.

We had some good news yesterday (hopefully!!!) the builders called and they are due to come out on the 9th february to replace our kitchen and bathroom i cant wait we will finally have a new kitchen floor after the washing machine florced us to rip up our laminate flooring last year we are also hopeful that our cavitaly walls and attic we be redone in the next few weeks too we are just waiting for the scafolding to be put up we should be so much warmer then oh and we are supposed to be having double glazing fitted sometime after april too so our house will finally be brough up to date we just need to get on with the rest of the decorating then

I am hpeful to try and pull my finger out later and get some stitching done i havent felt like it when ive been ill and am starting to get with drawal effects lol and i need to try and get back on that exercise bike but i know little by little i cant go down any worse than i am when i have other people relying on me.

Another cold and icy morning

Well its been a week since ive had anything much to say and its because i really havent been well since new years day ive recaught whatever it was that Leon then me then Donny had but this time its a lot worse my glands in my neck are swollan my throat is dry and my chest is really sore. I have been keeping Donny awake all night coughing i did get some cough mixture and its really helping me through the day its pointless going to the dr what with my asthma and my allergy to peacillin theres not much he can give me really.I though i was getting better until i walked to Lidl with Jake now its not even a 10min walk away from my house and i was exhausted by the time i got there and we still had to walk bnack it was fun just trying to say on our feet it was so slippery but we were giggling at each other sliding about lol

The boys dont go back to school with me until wednesday so they have a nice easy foirst week back at least. I have hardly picked up my needle this week and with Donnys birthday mext monday im really beging to doubt il have anything sewn for his card by that point but you never can tell right? I havent been online much either just havent had the strength do do anything much. I did take down my decorations on friday so the house was looking lovely and bright and tidy for a while at least!!!

This infection that i have had isnt helping my weightloss plan either its just ground to a holt as i cant exercise at the moment but im hoping to get back to it as soon as i can then restart the whole thing hopefully il have enough energy to get back on my bike by wednesday when the boys are at school. It not fair i feel like an old lady lol. At least when i do feel better i have found someone who lives just 10 miles down the road from me who wants to exercise with me and she stitches!!! so ill have a close stitchy friend which is something i dont have and i cant wait to meet her.

Id just like to thank Joan the pillow case came this morning in just 3 days from the states now that is fast!!! thanks so much hun Jake loves it i knew he would!! Well think ill go make a cuppa and try to recover from my walk i knew i should of took the car lol im just trying to walk more saying that on new years eve i walked for 4 hours with Leon looking for new trainers (sneakers) for him for school because we couldnt find a size 4 hmmm im wondering if that cold air on my chest has done this to me??

New years resolutions

I usually make these but never seem to stitch to them for very long i guess i just dont have enough will power lol after having a wonderful holidays with my family which by no means is over quite yet as we are having a family party on new years eve!!! I have decided that this year i should maybe only make a few that i should really try to stitck to so here goes

1. I am going to try to exercise more this year and try to get some of the extra weight i am carryng off me i always start out with good intentions but get bored so easily but this time its going to be different as i am doing it with the ladies on Jackys board ans as one lady is living just 10 miles from me as i found out today we are really going to try help each other so fingers crossed it will last!!! I am going to put up my tickers here to try keep myself motivated too.

2. I am going to try cut down on the amount of exchanges i join in i have been so disapointed with not getting back quite a few on boards such as Harmony and the pheonix stitching one and also the contests i am thinking od only joining in those people i know as i have been let down on both smo and Harmony here also so im just getting fed up with it all. So from now on its just people i trust or im not interested harsh i know but im getting fed up of being left down. I have already cut down on a lot of my yahoo groups and think i will drop out of a lot of places all together in the next few months so it will give me more time to do other things.

3. I am thinking of maybe (I can hear Donny laughing already) of cutting down on my internet time!!! i want to stitch more and play some of my computer games as they are stocking up and i dont have enough time to do everything i want. Ive had a ball the last few days playing the wii with the boys mind you my arms and legs are aching lol but its been fun spending so much time with them. We were playing our new singstar game on christmas day too that was fun i love it!!!

4. To not do so much for other people especially when you get no thanks for it just a great big kick in the teeth. I am far too trusting when it comes to leting people into my life and i try to do so much for them when they need it only to find when i need a little support they are no where to be found so I need to learn to put me and my family first from now on.

Hmmm i cant think of much else i want to change in my life at the moment there are things that i cant change so i try not to think about that too much. Is anyone else thinking of making some changes for 2009?

My good friend very kindly sent me this yesterday and it didnt half make me giggle to see myself in print!!!! I was approached a few months ago by the cross stitch gold magazine to write a piece for them still to this day i have no ideas where they got my details from at all!!! maybe its the contests i enter on thier web page where i won the tickets to the Cardiff craft show from and not too sure. Well anyway they liked what i wrote and decided that they wanted to print it in thier magazine so hear i am!!! i havent got the magazine yet as its not due out in the shops untill january 6th but my good friend has a subscribtion and she found it and sent it to me :-) i am going to be getting a small crafty gift for doing this im not sure what but i look foward to recieving it anyway. So what do you think of what i wrote???

Cristmas eve!!!!!!!!!!!

I cant believe that santa is coming tonight!!!! qoq qhats happened to this year?? its just flown by. Weve been busy today we have cooked our turkey that my dad got us here is was before abd here it is after

we always cook it on christmas eve that way we have more time to spend with the boys on christmas day.

Leon and i also put the finishing touches to our christmas cake npt to bad even if i say so myself lol you cant really see the glitter on the trip though and thats a real shame.

So dont forget everyone to go to sleep early tonight or samta wont come!!!!!

Baking up a storm.

Yesterday afternoon Leon and I spent three hours in the kitchen doing some christmas baking first we made some stained glass window trees they are supposed to be for the tree but i can see them lasting long enough lol they look very pretty but they are horrible to get up off the tray.Then we made some short bread cookies from a recipie i always like to use its the same one we used for the halloween cookies in october and its just so easy to do we just have to dunk them into some melted chocolate later to finish them off yummy!!!Next Leon decide he wanted to make some cookies so he made these all by himself not too bad for a first attempt i must say!!!Then last but by no means least we made some mince pies and i hand made the pastry i must admit i normally cheat and use the prebought stuff but not this time i did this one all by myself and they are going down really quickly i was hoping to freeze some so we would have some over christmas without me having to make more but i was told that there is no chance Donny said he would eat them all before i have the chance i had one this morninf with a cuppa because after all that baking last night it was the last thing i felt like doing lol but saying that i did cook a curry after i had cleaned up.

So how is everyone else doing with thier christmas baking? It wont be long now you know!!!

I cant believe there is less than a week and it will be christmas ive been so busy this week through the sickness with both me and Leon being being so full of cold but at least now we are both almost over it thank goodness.

I wanted to show you all a photo of leon in his new cadet uniform he wont be a real cadet until his 12th birthday in march so hes inbetween junior and cadet at the moment. Leon and Jake have been at asda today bag packing to help raise money for the cadets they are doing it most of this week if they can so he he is with his fresh new hair cut he got in town all by himself its a bit shorter than i thought hed go but doesnt he look handsome

I have been so lucky this year too i have had so many beautifully made hand made cards from all my friends all over the world i recieved these from the two Sues at my board today and i love them thankyou both. Id also like to thank Nicky for the pressie she got me!!! its been taken away to be put under the tree for me thankyou Nicky so much but there was no need you know :-)


Well i am almost ready for thursday but still have my main shop to do which lokes likely to being tuesday or wednesday!!! yikes im really dreading that lol but my dad said earlier that we will have the turkey on tuesday afternoon and they have us a piece of pork so im going to have to empty my spare fridge which usually homes the kids pop and stuff so that i have somewhere to store the turley untill i cook it on christmas eve i also have plans to bake some shortbread cookies and my mince pies tomorrow with Leon as he loves to bake. I was doing some last minute christmas wrapping while the boys where out so now everything is sat under the tree as now the boys are too big for me to have to hide everything anymore which means at least this year i wont have to stay up untill 3am when Jake finally decides to go to sleep as its all done lol i may acually get to sample the wine we made tonight too as i dont have to go out tomorrow so that will be nice a bottle some pringles and a movie bliss!!!!

Kids

What is it about kids once they turn into a teenager? does that give them the right to turn from a child to a monster? Well Jakes seems to think so and he is driving me mad. How exactly is it my fault his clothes havent been washed when he hasnt brought then down for me to wash? well aparantly it is. What am i supposed to do go through his room and do everything for him? I dont think so he almost went to school with a sore mouth this morning when i was a child if id spoken to anyone like that i would of had one he always has to tyr have the last word well not with me and if he keeps it up he will learn the hard way i can tell you.

Anyway enough of him for now because thinking about it is making me mad again and im off to meet the boys after school so they can do thier christmas shopping. Leon is back at school today hes still not 100% but hes finished his antibiotics so hes gone and i havent heard anything so he should be ok. Im dreading going mind as Leon has passed his germs onto me and i have a sore throat and ears a cough and a cold but i dont feel to bad and these things have to be done before it gets too late.I can hardly believe this time next week will be christmas eve!!! yikes id better get moving i guess or im not going to be ready for it.

Brilliant mail day!!

Todays mail really cheered me up after the weekend made me think of what had been going on within my family. I recieved my prize from Twig on the smo board and some dmc she granted me off my wish list thankyou so much Twig :-)I also recieved the krenick #4 i bought off a lady on the smo board its all so pretty and i cant wait to use it all she was selling it at $1.45 each which i thought was a good buy and i go through it so much these days it will be a great help thankyou Meg :-)
Leon was home today and will be tomorrow then all his medicine will be finished Jake has the cinema with the school in the morning and i have to get him there by 9.15am so im going to walk up with him the roads have been so icy id feel safer on my feet!!! im going to be walking Leon up with us to see how he goes too. Its not going to be much fun here tomorrow as we will have our water off between 9am and 9pm for works to be carried out so that means no heating either i guess ohhh joy!!!!!!! but at least on the bright side if Leons well enough to go to cadets tomorrow night and im hoping he is they are both 6.30~8.30 tomorrow so i wont have to go out so many times.

Families

Why is it that they can be so nasty instead of loving like they are supposed to be? When my dad called down yesterday he slipped me to tescos to get ink for my printer as i was using it to do things for him and my ink ran out well me being me i bought the wrong one so he slipped me back again to get the right one lucky its only 5mins drive down the road if that lol. Well when i was out my step mum was here wwith Donny and they were having a chat which i was told about in the early hours of this morning so for those of you that dont know me that well i guess you are going to learn a lot more about me when you read what i have to say.
When i was 6 my mum died of breast cancer well its started in her breast and then quickly spread through her whole body including her brain not even a mastectomy helped she was 31 and she was gone my dad was fantastic he cared for her all the way through she never went into hospital and died quietly at our home.While my dad was caring for my mum my mums mum and dad were taking care of us even though me and my younger sister could see out mum and dad as much as possible after my mum died my dad was so grief stricken and exhausted it took him a while to get over the fact that my mum had gone he moved in with us for a while with my mums parents and then the council moved him down next door were we could all be together. My sister and i used to spend days and nights at both houses but we did see more of our grand parents when my dad was working he was always there though everyday. I always was grateful for my grand parents being there for me and my sister but i guess for a long time i was blind to the type for person my gran was even though i used to hear my auntie and my dad spaeking of the things that she had done and said.

It wasnt until 2 years ago that i finally woke up to it all she had never liked my choice in Donny as a boyfriend and had tried on several oocasions to cause trouble between us and i didnt stop when i moved out and in with him when i found out i was expecting our first child she tokd me to "get rid of it" the day i got married i arrived home to find a letter telling me i was making the biggest mistake of my life she did not see Jake until he has 5 months old and im starting to wonder if i ever should of let her be a part of my boys lifes., When i found out i was expecting Leon she again said "well you know what to do" and i was amazed we were married we had Jake already and we had been together for 5 years and she still wasnt getting the message. My grand father then offered to pay for Donny to have a vasectomy as he didnt want me having anymore of his children. It wasnt long after that my grandfather passed away i was ther at the hospital at the bed side when he went after that my gran started getting worse. She would phone 5 or 6 times a day especially when she knew we would be busy with the children she would call down and cause trouble she told me at my sisters wedding which was a year after Leon was born that i was an imbaressment in my size 16 suit because i was so big she would constantly mock my weight im confortable the way am but it would leave me feeling horrible Donny hated the way she always put down everything even though i was constalty heling her out ect but he would leave me as i though i needed to do this as she was there when my mum died for me.

Well two years ago i went down there just after Leons birthday wow it will be 3 years really soon biy time goes fast. Leon wanted to say thankyou for his birthday gift Jake was at school as they were in different schools then someone phoned the house and it was my sister me and my sister dont get along but thats a whole different story well anyway she picked up the phone and walked into the other room and was giving my address out over the phone i went mad i walked Donny back to the car as his eyes were bad then too and walked back to tell her what i though about what she had just done Leon was there seen and heard all that was the last time i have steped foot in that house. She decided to go around telling people that Donny had done it screamed and shouted at her it was all lies and i dont understand why she is doing it at all.

Well my step mum told Donny yesterday that she has been telling people we wont let the boys see her (funny Leons girlfriend lives in the same street and he just walks past the house rather than go in and see her) and that Donny is refusing to let me see her yeah right my boys have thier own minds and what they do is thier choice not mine and who i do or dont see or talk to is mine too i am strong minded and those of you who know me know i tend to speak fisrst and think after LOL i just dont see why she could be so nasty instead of loving like grandmas are supposed to be she did this not us why cant she see what she has done wrong? doesnt she realise this will make things worse not better? i hope i dont have to see her for a while (which will be hard living next door to my dad) i just dont know why she is trying so hard to brake my family apart.

Been bottling!!!!!

Today has been fun at our house. This morning we watched the dance off on soccer am it was sooooo funny!!! the best one won i think though lol. Then my dad and stepmum called down and my dad slipped me down to tescos to get some ink for my printer me being me got the wrong one so dad had to take me back to get the right one lol. After they had left i made dinner then me and Jake went back down to tescos for a walk to get tonights lotto tickets nope we didnt win but nevermind!! we also got some chocolates for Leon we got a tin of quality streets but as we had two tins of heroes at home we opened one of those instead and had a few he still looks awful and isnt 100% i think it will take a good few days but we are keeping him dosed up and he is coping.

While Leon was watching his footie match on the telly me and Donny bottled up our home brew wine and as you can see as longas i dont start drinking it we should have plenty for over the holidays!!!

After tea me and Jake went upstairs to play singstar while Donny was watching the boxing and Leon came and sat with us he couldnt join in because he has no voice poor little thing so he sat and played about with his toy wrestlers they have ben in bed now about 45mins and the boxing is still on so im having a quick look about.
Id just like to say a quick thankyou to Sally,Heather,Cristin,Twig,Hannah,Lorraine,Rose,Jacky and Louise for the lovely christmas cards they have sent me.

Another friday has come around

We have had an eventful day today with Leon home sick i knew when he got up this morning he wasnt right and i insisted he went to the doctor he decided he was wearing his uniform and he was going to school hmmm well the doctor thought different gave him medicine and told him to take it easy the weekend he slept most of the way home in the car and then gain on the sofa when we got in but hes had 3 lots of medicine and paracetomol and is doing much better well his mouth has recovered lets put it that way lol hes still sneezing coughing and talking really rough but hes doing ok.

I have just walked Jake to sea cadets and its pouring and blowing a gale my hands are freezing and i dont know how many times my umbrella nearly blew away but im back now untill i need to go collect him later.I am going to get going with the wine kit we bought its ready for the final thing before its bottled tomorrow so at least i have plenty of wine for the holidays!! and we had fantastic news from my dad earlier as my stepmum has won us a turkey for our christmas dinner worth £45 its at least 20lbs maybe bigger there will be turkey for days!!! yummy!!!

Still crafting!!

Yes i am still busy trying to get things done seems neverending!!! Today is the last day for feeding my christmas cake the brandy before i mazipan it on sunday wow i can believe two weeks today will be christmas day its so unbelieveable!! Ive been busy making christmas cards here are the last few paper ones which i mailed out yesterday this is the one i made for my dad and stepmumand this is the one i made for our neighbours they have been so good to us since we started living here and always send such lovely cards to us and buy gifts for the boys so i wanted to make them something nice as a thankyou especially as the lady next door has been battling breast cancer the last few years but is still always so bright and cheerful she is just amazing.

Busy busy busy

Ive been so busy this week its hard to believe ive hardly had any pc time at all ive been busy crafting for the holidays and im still trying to catch up on heroes ive been watching for hours lol but its ok i enjoy it. I was sitting upstairs tonight making some more christmas cards as wednesday is last posting for the states thats tomorrow!! yikes but i got them all done and everyones is being posted even my friends in the uk so i can breathe easy for a bit.Anyway finally finished here are the cards for my boys

Everythings cold!!!

As Jake was at the christmas dinner with the sea cadets today i walked up with Leon to kick boxing so that he didnt have to walk alone i didnt mind because i wanted to go to game station to get singstar vol 3 for the boys for christmas anyway so i though a walk would be nice. Well it was nice on the way down crisp cold fresh air and all the roads and everywhere still glowing white from the thick frost we had ;ast night i was fine until we got to the railway station and the gates where down so Leon suggested we go over the footbridge!!! my chest has been a bit rough the last few days so i did struggle a little by the time we got to the top but i was ok then a little further down the road Leon said the fresh air was killing me lol. We got to kick boxing and had to wait around for the instructors to vome but then i left him there and went across to town to pick up the game and have a little look around before i went to collect him at 4pm. On the way back the sun was gona and it was starting to get dark so it was really cold and even though ive had a cup of tea and the heating is on i still have cold fingers!!! nevermind im cooking tea now so hopefully that will help warm my body up a little all this cold and winter hasnt even started yet!!! next time its this cold i think ill take the car lol Leons already maoing as he has cross country first lesson tomorrow morning and is not looking foward to it!!!! i have no stitching to show today i was hoping i would have the boys cards done but i just havent had the time to get them done this weekend so hopefully i will tomorrow.I hope you all saty warm and well.

Ho ho ho

You know Jakes going to the christmas lunch with the sea cadets tomorrow? well last night they decided that it was going to be fancy dress!!! yeah real good idea to give us all so much noticeto try and get a costume choosen and made or bought today lol so anyway me and Jake have just been for a walk and look what we just bought ooohhh isnt he cute!!!It wasnt too bad at just £2.49 and it saves me the stress of having to try and get something sorted out for him at such short notice so now he is all ready to go and have some fun :-)

Not like his brother who has already given me grief this morning he has gone out with his friends on his own all the way to town after having his migraine back when he came home from cadets last night i wasnt happy but hes growing up so i have to let him start doing these things at some point i guess they are playing football just down the road from where i grew up so i know where he is and i know at least one of the boys he is with i have told him he needs to be home before its dark as he is walking on his own and he has his phone and i have heard from him 3 times so i know hes ok. I am going to settle down this afternoon and watch the footie and get some stitching done hopefully.

Friday again

These weeks just see to be flying at the moment with christmas lurking a little too close for cofort although saying that we are almost done so i cant grumble too much!!! The wine kit i ordered came back this morning so it is now busy fermenting n the kitchen and if all goes to plan i should have around 28 bottle this time next week!!! oh joy i wont have to worry about buying any untill next year hopefully!!! depends on how quick i drink them lol this is a rose and its lovely much nicer tan the chadonay one we use to make and its done in around 5-7 days too so its reall quick. I gave my christmas cake its weekly top up drink today and i am looking foward to mazipaning it next week as it will be another step closer to seeing it all iced and i cant wait!! i am so looking foward to tasting my first ever christmas cake i have been so tempted to eat it as it seems so nice but so far my will power seems to be hanging on ~ just!!!

We went up to town this afternoon to go take a look at the big sale in woolworths and did manage to spent £20 even though we were just looking!!! saying that i did get some presants bought so its not all bad it just means more packing for me to be doing later. We went back to the car and then up to Morrisons for a few things where i had a call from the school nurse Leon had another migraine so i had to go collect him i was lucky the nurse offered to let Jake leave with us as there was only 25minutes left of school so i didnt have to go back to collect him so i then went back to Morrisons to finish what i started before coming home.

Leons better now and is returning to cadets with Jake tongiht so very soon we will have peace for a few hours which will be nice.

Heroes and stitching

We have had quite a busy week here getting ready still for christmas which seems to be speeding towards us like a roller coaster. On tuesday me and Donny went into tescos and he bought me a poinsettia he tried last year but our dog bud knocked it off the kitchen table and killed it a few days before christmas im hoping this year it lasts at least untill boxing day!!! but i must say even though my kitchen is a disaster with no flooring still it has helped christmas the kitchen up s little!!! Leons school rugby team where playing this week and they have got to the final stage of a local tournament so he is really hoping that he will get a chance to play in the new local stadium i hope so too as he did play in the old one during half time on a live game in the old stadium with the local team he used to play for so this would be fantastic for him!! he could then say he had played in both :-) Jake has had a quiet week as he has exams at school at the moment but he has the christmas walk and dinner with the sea cadets on sunday and then the christmas party coming up a week on friday to which we are all going so that will be nice.I recieved these lovely christmas cards in the mail this morning one from Karyn all the way from Hawaii. And the other from Joan. The one from Joan was part of the christmas card exchange i ran on my board and very impressive for her first attempt at making christmas cards!! i love them both very much thankyou girls!!!!

I have spent most of today home trying to catch up on last seasons heroes as this seasons is slowing filling up on my sky+ box im on the last one now so tomorrow i can start working through my planner as it has been so cold and wet here today i really didnt mind staying home at all!!! and i almost got all the christmas cards stitched for my boys im hoping to have them all done by the weekend.

Sunshine and ice

Today has been so cold everything was white when we got up this morning and even though the heating was on for 3 hours the house just hasnt seemed to warm up at all. Even though the sun came out and was shining so bright which didnt do Donnys eyes any good at all my shed roof and a lot of my street is still frozen and we are looking at more tonight to go on top of what we have already had but at least its dry i guess which means the kids are getting to walk to school. I did almost manage to get Donnys xmas card almost finished this morning while watching last nights desperate housewives just the back stitching left to do then to start on the boys.

I had to remop my floor about 3 times today because the front door kept knocking but we finally have the old ariel which was here when we moved in removed from the roof as it was just dangling there Donnys friend from round the corner who is a roofer came and took it down for us so thats one less worry that it will come through the roof or smashing through the upstairs window.

Well liverpools on the telly tonight so i guess the boys will be all watching that so i may get in some sort of crafting after i have fed everyone maybe ill make somemore xmas cards or decide on my next project!!
